Prepare shaft size, load, floor count, travel height and local compliance needs before requesting a technical proposal.

Start with the building conditions

A useful quotation starts with the building type, floor count, travel height and the clear internal shaft dimensions. Pit depth, overhead, machine-room conditions and landing-door openings should be measured or marked on a drawing.

For an existing building, include photographs of the shaft, access route and available power supply. These details help the engineering team identify structural constraints before recommending a configuration.

Confirm the operating requirement

Describe who or what the elevator will move, the required load, expected traffic and target delivery market. Local standards and documentation requirements should be stated before the technical proposal is prepared.

  • Building type and project location
  • Shaft size, pit, overhead and travel height
  • Required capacity, speed and number of stops
  • Door opening and expected traffic
  • Target schedule and local compliance requirement
